You should have: relevant commercial experience; an appreciation of W3C web standards, usability and accessibility; strong coding skills in HTML 4.0, XHTML, XSLT, CSS and JavaScript; ability to work in a team environment; a portfolio of sites you’ve worked on and source code you can share with us and our clients at an interview.
